The new academic year brings a new set of DPhil students into the department. Some are entirely new to us, some have been working in the department in the last few years, and all are very welcome.

Lucy Abel
Supervisors: Professor Richard McManus; Dr Lisa Hinton; Dr Oliver Rivero-Arias; Dr Helen Dakin
Research: Quantifying women's preferences for valuing fetal health outcomes in cost-effectiveness analysis.
Lucy has a BSc and MSc and has been working in the department as a Health Economist since 2015.
Ting Cai
Supervisors: Dr James Sheppard; Professor Richard Hobbs; Dr Sarah Lay-Flurrie
Research: Stratifying medicines for prevention of cardiovascular disease in Primary Care.
Ting has a BSc and MPH and has most recently been working at Peking University in Beijing, China.
Charlotte Lee
Supervisors: Professor Susan Jebb; Dr Carmen Piernas-Sanchez
Research: An Intervention to Encourage Healthier Food Purchasing: SCOPA (Sugar Swaps for Non Communicable Disease Prevention App).
Charlotte has a BSc and MSc and has been working as a Research Assistant with the Health Behaviours Team in the department since 2018.
Moscho Michalopoulou
Supervisors: Professor Susan Jebb; Dr Dimitrios Koutoukidis
Research: Gestational diabetes.
Moscho has a BSc and MSc and has most recently been working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Behavioural Science and Health at UCL since 2017.
Elizabeth Morris
Supervisor: Professor Paul Aveyard
Research: Dietary management of type 2 diabetes in primary care.
Liz has a BMBCh and was previously an ACF in the department before taking a position as an In-practice Fellow in the Health Behaviours Team in the department in 2018. She is also a practicing GP.
