Dr Stuart Faulkner, representing the Chevening Health Reform Fellowship run through Oxford Lifelong Learning, attended the inaugural Chevening Health Research Forum (CHERF) in China.
The forum – jointly hosted by the UK government, the University of Oxford, and the British Chamber of Commerce in China – aims to establish an annual academic platform for universities and leading healthcare institutions from both countries to exchange research and explore approaches to health reform.
Building on the UK–China Health Dialogue held in May 2025, CHERF brought together researchers, policy specialists, and former Chevening Fellows for a series of strategic discussions. Among the contributors was Professor Irene Tracey, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
Dr Faulkner delivered a presentation outlining the support Fellows can expect during their time in Oxford and chaired one of the panel sessions. Two key priorities emerged from the event:
- Showcasing recent health reform research supported through the Chevening Health Reform Fellowship Programme
- Strengthening bilateral collaboration in research, policy, and healthcare innovation between the UK and China
This milestone reflects Oxford’s commitment to advancing global health partnerships and fostering knowledge exchange that drives meaningful reform.
