Creating meaningful change in respiratory health requires more than excellent research. It requires collaboration across disciplines, sectors and communities.

CARRii is building a network of networks - bringing together organisations with complementary expertise to accelerate research, strengthen implementation and deliver real-world impact. By connecting researchers, clinicians, policymakers, industry, charities, patient and public contributors and community organisations, we are creating new opportunities to share knowledge, develop partnerships and translate evidence into practice.

Each organisation within our network brings unique expertise, perspectives and connections that strengthen CARRii's mission to reduce winter pressures on the NHS and address inequalities in lung health.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected respiratory research community that transforms collaboration into lasting impact.

CARRii’s mission to reduce winter pressures on the NHS and address inequalities in lung health, through translation of high-quality research into practice, presents a significant opportunity to ensure that innovation is both scientifically robust and equitably delivered. 

The partnership with the Centre for Research Equity (CfRE) brings complementary strengths – combining CARRii’s national research and implementation network with CfRE’s expertise in inclusive, community-embedded research and engagement with underserved populations.

Together, this collaboration creates a powerful platform to strengthen reach, improve representation and ensure that research outcomes are relevant, trusted and impactful across all communities.

 CfRE brings established, trusted partnerships across faith, cultural and professional networks, alongside a UK-wide community pharmacy infrastructure. This enables research to extend beyond traditional academic settings into communities where the burden of health inequalities is often greatest, but participation in research has historically been lower.

through this partnership, CARRii and Cfre will support:

• More inclusive and representative research participation
• Co-development of research with communities
• Culturally competent engagement approaches
• Stronger translation of evidence into practice

The Academic Respiratory Research Alliance (ARRA) is joining the growing CARRii network, strengthening our shared ambition to improve respiratory health through multidisciplinary research, innovation, implementation and impact. 

ARRA brings together researchers from across nursing, pharmacy, allied health professions, psychology, behavioural sciences, qualitative research, mental health, health economics, implementation science and many other disciplines. Together, this breadth of expertise complements CARRii's mission to ensure that research translates into meaningful benefits for patients, the public and healthcare systems.

 Delivering Impact Together

Through this collaboration, ARRA members will benefit from greater opportunities to collaborate, share research and build partnerships across the wider CARRii network through webinars, conferences, networking events and collaborative grant development.

 Together, ARRA and CARRii will strengthen the UK's multidisciplinary respiratory research community, supporting innovation, implementation and impact to improve respiratory health outcomes.
