Education and Learning
About
The education and learning platform will bring together a community of PhD, MD students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and provide support with training and career development opportunities. This builds on the success of our previous Doctoral Training Programme for the Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research (AUKCAR), which provided training for over 50 doctoral students, many now part of our new Centre.
There is great enthusiasm for increasing opportunities for networking and collaborative working in research addressing CARRii key priorities. These focus on promoting respiratory health and minimising the impact of health and social care inequalities through reducing risk and infections; connected care; and optimising clinical care across the UK. Our CARRii Education and Training platform will support capacity building, providing support for grant applications – including fellowship applications - and increase co-applicant opportunities for ECRs. Online and in-person training events are planned, with a focus on interdisciplinary working, peer-led learning, and co-creating impact on policy and implementation. We will encourage cross-institutional supervision to build collaborations and ensure that patent and public involvement is embedded in projects from the outset. We will build capacity for community outreach so that important research findings can be widely implemented.
