Mark Joy
Senior Statistician
I am a senior statistician within the CIHORG research group. My research interests include the analysis of longitudinal data, including survival analysis and emulating trail designs in observational data, supporting the real-world evaluation (efficacy and safety) of vaccination roll-outs.
My recent work has concentrated upon the use of primary care data from the Oxford-Royal College of General Practitioners Research and Surveillance Centre (Oxford-RCGP RSC), which collects data from more than 1900 practices across England and Wales. I am also experienced in using primary care data from Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) and the Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) dataset.
I currently co-supervise a DPhil student and have taught on the MSc in Applied Digital Health.
Prior to joining the University of Oxford, I held posts at University of London in Mathematics and Statistics and at Surrey University in the School of Healthcare Sciences. My undergraduate studies were in Pure Mathematics at the University of Warwick.
