Rachel Allan

Rachel is lead for the senior GP placement which takes place in Y5/GE3, also known as the community based medicine placement. Rachel is also lead for student assessment, teaching quality and tutor training. She has a keen interest in assessment and the use of technology in learning and assessment. Rachel is lead for quality assurance of our GP practices, ensuring that all our students experience excellent teaching and supervision within our clinical placements.

Rachel is an Associate Director for Clinical Studies, assessment lead for Y4 and Y6 in the central medical school. She develops and coordinates all the assessments associated with these year groups. 

She is a Medical Education Fellow for the Msc in Medical Education in Oxford, lecturing and supervising students as part of the programme. 

After graduating from University College London in 2004, Rachel did her GP training in Oxford, followed by a Senior Registrar position in medical education and general practice. She has been a Principal GP since 2009. Rachel completed her Masters in Medical Education in 2017, with her research focused on developing the delivery of bedside clinical teaching within a primary care context. She is an examiner for a number of medical schools.
