Research Associate and DPhil Candidate
I am a qualitative researcher and DPhil candidate working as part of the SNAP2 trial. My work involves evaluating the delivery and implementation of an intervention to aid the self-management of blood pressure medication in the postnatal period, exploring health equity and self-management at the interface of primary and secondary care.
Having previously held the Ann McPherson Fellowship as part of the Medical Sociology and Health Experiences Research Group, I have worked on a range maternal health projects at the department. These include research into ethnic disparities in obstetric anaesthesia, service evaluation of community-based health initiatives, and exploring the use of at-home fetal Dopplers during pregnancy.
I am interested in using applied qualitative methodologies to understand and improve people’s experiences of healthcare, particularly in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Science (Hons Reproductive Biology) from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. During my Masters degree I conducted qualitative work that explored people’s experience of abortion care in Britain, and this is a continued area of interest.
