BSc MSc

DPhil Student in Primary Health Care

I am a DPhil student focusing on health inequalities in people with learning disabilities. Specifically, my project aims to improve the prediction of preventable mortality in people with learning disabilities in primary care using a mixed methods approach.

I joined the department in 2022 as a Research Fellow in the QResearch team, based in the Primary Health Care Epidemiology group. My work primarily focused on uptake, safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 and other routine vaccines in different groups across the UK population, including people with blood cancer, immunocompromised people, children and pregnant people.

Prior to joining the QResearch team I worked in the Nuffield Department of Women's and Reproductive Health, Oxford as a Statistical Programmer/Data Analyst, where my research focused on non-communicable diseases, including hypertension, cardiovascular disease and cancer.

I have expertise in the analysis of large healthcare datasets and a variety of statistical methods including survival analysis, multi-level modelling, self-controlled case series analysis and individual-level patient data (IPD) meta-analysis. I also have significant experience in the analysis of linked electronic healthcare records.

Additionally, I have a strong interest in Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in research and have been involved in setting up the department's Young Person Advisory Group.

I continue to work as a Research Fellow in the QResearch team, now based at Queen Mary University of London, alongside my DPhil studies.
