COVID-19 in the community
The Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences' response to the coronavirus pandemic
Researchers, trial teams and professional and support staff across our department are working together to better understand, diagnose and manage COVID-19 in the community.
A treatment for recovery at home
Interim results from the PRINCIPLE trial show that budesonide can reduce recovery time by 3 days when given to people during the early stages of COVID-19.
Two metres or one?
Our researchers review the evidence for physical distancing in COVID-19 and produce a handy guide for different settings and when to wear a face covering.
Assessing population and individual risk
QCovid®, an evidence-based coronavirus risk prediction model developed in our department, has been adopted by the NHS to support the UK's pandemic response.
Our multidisciplinary teams are co-ordinating nationwide community-based trials of tests and treatments, gathering and analysing vast amounts of patient data, and developing ways to understand and mitigate the risk of COVID-19, particularly for those who are disproportionately impacted.
