Green Impact
Green Impact is a United Nations award-winning programme designed to support environmentally and socially sustainable practice in organisations led in the UK by the National Union of Students.
Both the University and the department are a part of this initiative and our department currently holds a Gold NUS Green Impact Award.
These pages are your first stop for information about what the department is doing to improve sustainability, and for simple tips and other content that can help you to lower your own and the department's environmental footprint.

Divesting from fossil fuels and climate action
Earlier this year, many members of the Primary Care Department backed the successful resolution to divest the University Endowment from fossil fuel companies. This is an important step towards mitigating the climate crisis, which is key to protecting the public health we all hold dear.

Veganuary is an annual challenge run by a UK nonprofit organisation that promotes and educates about veganism by encouraging people to follow a vegan lifestyle for the month of January. Since the event began in 2014, participation has more than doubled each year.
